It basically swaps your negative patterns of thinking, for good ones - for example, it would identify your negative patterns of thinking concerning healthy eating and exercise and replace these with positive patterns so that you start to enjoy healthy food and begin to look forward to exercising. Or if you worry about social situations, then it would instill within you favourable patterns of thinking in this subject - so you start to look forward to socialising, and employ a state of mind where you love meeting and learning new things about new men and women.

It is in this way that your behavior starts to alter. However, the second element is required for much deeper, and authentic, lasting change:

The second element is that hypnotherapy changes your values on a deep level.

For example, it aims to replace the negative self beliefs, beliefs which hold you back from authentic change, for positive ones. It will make you more positive, more confident, and make sure that you truly feel like you can achieve change, like you can improve yourself and most importantly, that you DESERVE change.
